Back when I began to visit Hilo, prior to moving here, I fell in love with the buckets full of orchids at the Hilo Farmers Market. I took a lot of pictures of them, and finally, this painting is the result!! My daughter, Marie, loves orchids and was so excited watching it develop, that about half way through, I knew just what I wanted to title it : “Marie’s Bouquet.”
This watercolor painting is available in a variety of sizes as a gallery-quality giclee print.
Here on the East side of the Big Island, our orchids almost always have raindrops on them. And ferns nearby is pretty common too. This 11x14 acrylic painting is available here as a fine art print and the original can be found listed on the Originals page.
The north shore of Kauai is the inspiration behind a new landscape style. The numerous shades of blue in the skies and waters of Kauai are an artist's treat. The original can be purchased from the Original Art page.
The Orange Cup Coral, yellow Finger Coral, and the pink Lace Coral are all native in Hawaii's reefs. A set of three prints on the vibrant and ready-to-hang metal format are a perfect addition for a space needing a bit more island or beach decor.
The beauty of Hawaii comes in a multitude of layers, both near and distant. A flower blooming right before me, the majestic mountainsides above me. The view that inspired this painting had those vibrant layers of beauty as well as the encouraging reminder of the ancient Hebrew song writer: "I lift up my eyes to the mountains--where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth." The original can be found on the "Original Art" page.
