Ohia is a much beloved yet endangered tree here on Hawaii island (research "Rapid Ohia Death" for more information and how you can help). I found this beautiful little Ohia seedling growing on my land and named the painting Keiki O Ka Aina, or, Child of the Land.
As a resident of Hawaii island I am inspired by the islands' natural beauty on a daily basis. As an artist it is my passion to paint visual stories of that beauty and the resulting peace and joy I find here. I hope my work will inspire these in you as well.
The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders;
where morning dawns, where evening fades,
you call forth songs of joy. Psalm 65:8
