The Fine Print of Fine Art
FAQs
What kind of prints do you sell?
Our giclee prints are produced with an archival print process on fine art paper. Each print has a 1/8 inch wide white internal border to reveal the maximum amount of print surface after matting with a stock mat and a 1/2 inch wide external border. The copyright watermarks seen on this website will not appear on your prints however, all artwork is copyrighted and may not be used or reproduced without permission of the artist, Melanie Pruitt.
Can I order a print on canvas or metal?
Yes you can. Select paintings are now available in the shop for immediate orders. Please feel free to use the contact form above to inquire about special requests on other pieces. Include the size you are hoping for. We will email back with info on what we can offer and prices.
What is a "Direct to Metal Giclee Print?
These aluminum prints are the most colorfully vibrant representations of my original paintings. The unique print process produces stunning images that give off an almost backlit kind of luminescence. The sleek, float-mounted presentation has a modern, professional look with fine art quality and a UV protection laminate finish.
Can I order a custom size?
Please feel free to use the contact form to inquire about a special request. Due to the nature of printing, we can’t offer just any size of any print, but we will do our best to accommodate your request. Please let us know the size and surface (paper, canvas or metal) that you would like and we will email you with options and prices.
How will you ship my order?
Shipping for all orders is free. Prints and originals are produced entirely on island and ship from our studio in Hawaii.
Where do you ship?
We are currently shipping only to U.S. addresses. Shipping will be available to Canada and Japan in the future.
When can I expect delivery?
We will process your order within one day. Our printshop will require approximately two to three business days to produce your print(s) and, in most circumstances, another five to eight business days are needed for shipping from the islands.
Can I cancel an order?
Yes, though only until your order goes into production. This is usually within 1 to 24 hours of your order submission so use the contact form above as quickly as possible to inquire whether cancelation is still possible.
What happens if my order is damaged?
If your package arrives with shipping damage to the printed area (unsuitable to mat & frame) please use the contact form above to inform us within 5 days of delivery. We will have you email us pictures of the damage and send you a new, no-cost replacement print ASAP. We may, at our discretion, request that you return the damaged item(s) to our studio in Hawaii in the original packaging at our expense.
What if I want to return a print?
We are very confident you will enjoy the art you receive! However, if you are disappointed in what you receive we will work with you to exchange your print(s) on a once-per-transaction basis. Note: we do not offer refunds for customer preferences (for damage or print quality issues, see above). Exchanges must be for items of equal or greater value with customer paying for any difference. Here are a few policies regarding the exchange process:
What if I want to return an original?
You may return an original piece of art within 15 days of receipt for a refund of the sale price (inc. tax if applicable, but not including shipping charge) minus a 20% handling fee. If the customer exchanges the work for another piece of equal or greater value, the handling fee will be waived. All works must be in the original condition when returned. The customer must ship the work back in it's original packing materials and assume return shipping costs. When applicable, refunds will be initiated after we receive the returned item(s) with 7-10 additional business days required for processing.
