Living in the Hawaii jungle, life abounded all around me. Moving to Arizona felt, at first, like living in a vast emptiness. But I have come to realize how much life there really is in the desert. I began thinking about how people often feel all alone in their trials, and an evening sunset with a lone cactus inspired “Never Alone”, my first painting in Arizona. If you look carefully, the cactus is not really alone, just as we are never really alone.
