About Rescue

I created this mixed media painting for my own private collection. In the midst of suffering, it can be easy to conclude that I am no longer important to God, that He has forgotten about me or set me aside. But that is not what we are told in the Bible.

"The LORD is near to the brokenhearted

And he rescues those whose spirits are crushed."

Psalm 34:18 NLT

'The LORD says, "I will rescue those who love me.

I will protect those who trust in my name.

When they call on me, I will answer;

I will be with them in trouble.

I will rescue and honor them."

Psalm 91:14-15 NLT

This painting is an illustrational depiction of these truths. It reminds me of this solid truth in my own life and reminds me to pray for and remember others who are feeling unseen.

Created on gesso board, it is painted with acrylic paints and Posca acrylic pens. I used a unique technique of eggshells to create the path. It hangs, framed, in my studio.
